Responsibilities and Duties 

Below are the daily job tasks for every job role:

【Front Desk Officer】

Day shift:

Greet guests and assist with luggage upon arrival.

Manage check-in/out processes, including bill calculation and collection.

Conduct hotel room tours and escort guests to their rooms.

Handle guest phone calls, emails, and inquiries.

Assist with concierge services and arrange shuttle service for guests.

Night shift:

Handle bill calculation and perform night audit duties.

Address guest requests and maintain cleanliness of public areas.

Patrol the hotel premises and handle emergencies.

Ensure smooth handover of information to next shift staff.

Assist with guest inquiries and maintain security.

Concierge:

Manage guest inquiries and arrange reservations for various services. Coordinate with other hotel departments and external service providers. Assist with guest bookings for restaurants, transportation, spa, etc. Liaise with Front Desk and Reservation teams.

【Room Inspector】

Conduct room inspections to ensure readiness for check-in. Handle guest requests and amenities delivery.

Inspect and maintain cleanliness of public areas and private Onsen.

Conduct post-check-out room damage inspections.

Manage inventory and update room cleaning status.

【Slope Management】

Perform snow clearing and slope grooming duties. Manage ski slope safety and lift pass sales.

Assist guests with ski equipment and locker services.

Maintain cleanliness of ski locker area and gym.

Assist guests with inquiries about winter activities and rentals.

【Driver】

Transport guests to and from the hotel safely and courteously. Perform snow clearing and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Provide local area information and assistance to guests.

Assist with luggage handling and loading/unloading.

Report any vehicle damages or maintenance requirements promptly.

【Snow clearing)

Clear snow from sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, etc.,

Check snow removal gear regularly, report problems for quick fixes.

Assist with facility maintenance team when necessary

Keep accurate records of snow clearing activities, report to supervisors or manager.

This is a diverse role, assisting an entrepreneur to grow and manage adventure companies around Asia. Pete Tupper is the founder of the Imagine brand, which does business in the outdoor education and travel industries in Hokkaido, Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Bali and more.

Your role is to work directly with Pete, sometimes remotely, sometimes in the office, to help in many different ways. You will play important parts in the business while enabling him to focus on other high priority work.

Responsibilities

Company-related

• Communication with customers 
• Handle sign-up forms, invoices, payments, receipts, records
• Booking transport, hotels, restaurants and rentals for activities

Requirements

• Native or near-native Japanese (spoken and written, business level)
• Fluent in English (spoken and written, business level)
• Bachelor’s degree or similar 
• 2-8 years work experience in similar roles
• Driving license and own car
• Already living in Hokkaido (the closer to Kimobetsu, the better)
• Very efficient at using a variety of computer software
• Own laptop
• Hardworking, productive, focused, self-motivated
• Good at adapting between office, remote work and outdoor work
• Flexible, team player and humble
• See no job as too simple or too difficult, always happy to help
• Able to think independently to find ways to get things done
• OK with heavy workload sometimes and light workload other times, not always on a regular schedule.

Not essential but great if you also have:

• Chinese language skills
• Video editing skills 
• Outdoor education experience 
• Wordpress skills

Arrangements

Main place of work is currently in Kimobetsu (25 mins from Kutchan).

Work is sometimes in the office, sometimes remote (from home), sometimes outdoors on activities, and sometimes driving around to do tasks. Sometimes you may also work in another office in Niseko. It varies every week. 

Approx 40 hours per week

1 year contract with expectation to extend to long term
