Geisha Experience in Otaru

 

Interacting with Geisha is a special experience, even among Japanese people, as practicing Geisha are becoming increasingly rare and the expense can be very high.You’ll get to enjoy free time to explore Otaru. Afterwards you will be transported to Kihinkan to participate in the traditional Geisha experience where you will be greeted by Geisha hosts with dancing and traditional games while enjoying a Japanese set-course meal and drinks.


"Hatsumoude" (Traditional New Year's shrine visit) at Yamada Shrine, 1st January

“​Hatsumoude” is the first visit of the year to a Shinto shrine. While you’re in Japan, why not experience the New Year in a traditional Japanese way?

Yamada Shrine is located in the Hirafu area (please see the map below) and will welcome visitors who wish to pray for happiness in the coming year.

 

Those who visit the shrine between midnight and 2am on 1st January 2017 will be offered free “sacred sake”! Yakitori, sweet sake (traditional New Year’s drink), and butajiru (pork miso soup) stalls will be on site, too!
