Brand New Ryokan in Jozankei Opening in 2019, Hong Kong Capital
[Kutchan-cho, Abuta-gun, Hokkaido] SUPER OKUSAN KK (President Lady Ivy Wu) newly established JOZANKEI ENTERPRISES KK to open a modern ryokan in the Jozankei Onsen area in Minami-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. Construction begins on April 2018 for a grand opening in spring of 2019.
The company previously established a luxury hotel “Chalet Ivy” (www.chaletivy.com) in Yamada, Kutchan (Niseko Hirafu area) in 2012. The hotel received Three Red Pavilions in the MICHELIN GUIDE Hokkaido 2017 Special Edition. The company also acquired a hotel in Kutchan in September 2017. This Jozankei project will be the third hotel project in Japan for the company president.
The company president was officially appointed by the Hokkaido governor as a Hokkaido Smile Ambassador in October 2015 and works to attract foreign visitors to Hokkaido and is deeply involved with the local government.
This Jozankei project was launched after an opportune investment emerged. As summertime travel to Hokkaido increases, the business goal is to stimulate the Jozankei economy by promoting Jozankei as a new travel destination. Furthermore, by linking Jozankei with the hotels in Niseko where summer promotions are needed, a wide Sapporo-Jozankei-Niseko area network is expected to generate a synergistic effect. The goal is to attract more foreigners from Asia and other countries to this already international area. The proximity to central Sapporo makes Jozankei an ideal location for visitors from within Hokkaido as well.
The aim is to become a 5-star ryokan targeting a high-end market. The concept is to provide a longer stay in a relaxing atmosphere in the natural setting of Jozankei. A spa, gym, mini theater, and numerous other facilities will offer variety during the stay to increase room nights and guest satisfaction.
