Niseko Kyo brings a true ski-in ski-out hotel experience this season

New luxury ski hotel Niseko Kyo hosted its official ribbon cutting and opening ceremony on Friday 20th of October ahead of the launch for guests on November 30th. The ceremony was attended by Kutchan Town’s Mayor Kazushi Monji, owner Datuk Seri Robert Tan and representatives of architect H2 Planning and builder Iwata Chizaki.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was supported by Datuk Seri Robert Tan’s family

Niseko Kyo offers 22 keys in total from the 1st to 5th floors with the 6 Bedroom Penthouse on the 6th. The ski access and concierge are located on the B2 floor along with the restaurant. The property features in-room and balcony onsen from a natural spring (including three onsen in the penthouse), as well as a shared-onsen for guests.

“At the opening Datuk Seri Robert Tan spoke with passion about wanting to create a true ski-in and out experience” said Niseko Alpine Development’s Marketing Manager Amon Bradshaw, “where parents don’t have to carry kids ski gear long distances to get home. You can really feel that vision when you see the ski access”.

Managed by Niseko property management and travel company The Luxe Nomad, Niseko Kyo’s location provides direct access to the Ace Family Run and is just 30 metres from the lift gates.

The luxury hotel will be home to Shirakaba by Naniwatei, led by executive chef Koji Murai. The restaurant will offer up to 12-course options featuring a high-end dining experience made with local seafood and produce.

During his opening speech Datuk Seri Robert Tan thanked the local Kutchan town office and Mayor Kazushi Monji for their support for a project and expressed his love for Niseko, especially the summer, and excitement for the future.

Niseko Kyo opens November 30th. With direct ski in ski out access, availability for early New Year, Chinese New Year and spring-skiing is expected to sell-out quickly once Niseko’s winter travellers return.

Niseko Kyo is an exclusive luxury ski hotel located in Hirafu, Niseko, Hokkaido. Located just 30 metres from Niseko United’s Ace Family Quad lift and directly adjacent to the Family Run the property was built to offer a true ski-in ski-out experience – and no carrying ski gear for parents.

With only 22 luxury residences – and a full staffing team – Niseko Kyo is designed to offer quality service and hospitality, as well as a sense of home.  The word “Kyo” (郷) (or Furusato) itself means “hometown” according to the original Chinese “onyomi” reading of the word.

Niseko Kyo offers sweeping views of snow-covered Yotei, views of the Hirafu ski runs as well as the vibrant Hirafu village. From the first floor to the Penthouse – onsen feature in most apartments within the property. The 6th Floor penthouse itself has 3 separate onsen – each with either a stunning Mt Yotei or view of the Niseko United ski runs.
