Winter Season – Restaurant Service Staff

We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Service Staff. As a member of our service team, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent service to our Guests and ensuring they have a memorable dining experience.

Start Date: 1 December 2024 – 28 Feb 2025

Job Description

  • Acknowledgement and greeting of Guests.
  • Table service and taking orders.
  • Provide concept and menu explanations to Guests.
  • Communicate with the kitchen on orders and special requests.
  • Taking orders to each table.
  • Assist in making simple drinks orders.
  • Bussing & table cleaning.
  • Anticipating Guest needs and encouraging sales of drinks and food items.
  • Resolving any complaints and issues with management.
  • Simple restaurant hygiene and cleaning duties.
  • Assist with other simple restaurant/kitchen duties.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about hospitality service.
  • Previous service experience is a plus.
  • Professional attitude with courteous and friendly manner.
  • Punctual individual.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • English is a must, and the ability to speak a second language, especially Japanese is a plus but not necessary.

 

Job Particulars

Pay Rate

¥1,250-1,450 per hour. Depending on experience.

25% overtime allowance for hours worked above prescribed working hours for the month.

 

Employment Period

1 Dec 2024 – 28 Feb 2025.

Fully paid training at the start of the season.

 

Hours

Generally 5 days per week, around 40 hours per week.

Roster is shift work so the days per week vary. Please note it will not be 5 days on 2 days off type roster. Hours will vary through the season depending on business levels with less hours at the start and end of the season (more riding time!) and occasional overtime work during peak periods

Lift Passes

There are two options for your lift pass:

  • A free Niseko Village only lift pass – A deposit of JPY5,000 is required, and will be returned when you return your lift pass at the end of the season. This pass is only valid whilst employed at Niseko Village.
  • A discounted All Mountain lift pass – This is a non-refundable discounted all season all mountain lift pass that is valid whilst you are employed at Niseko Village.

A compulsory ski insurance is required before we can issue lift passes.

Subsidised Accommodation and Staff Shuttle

Subsidised staff accommodation available at twin share only at JPY25,000 per month. All utilities are included.

Free Staff shuttle available to Niseko Village.

 

For the best performing seasonal staff, we may ask to extend until March and can potentially sponsor a working visa for future seasons (provided you meet the sponsorship criteria). Full-time career options are also available.

 

Winter Season – Chef / Cook

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef/Cook to join our culinary team. As a Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. You will collaborate closely with other team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our Guests.

Start Date: 1 Dec 2024 – 28 Feb 2025.

 

Job Description

Hands on food preparation and cooking at a workstation for breakfast/lunch, dinner service 

Maintaining communication with other Chefs on food orders.

Maintaining a sanitary and neatly arranged workstation.

Assisting with special orders and requests from Guests.

Communicating with the service team regarding orders and issues.

Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and cleanliness.

Occasional washing up and other general kitchen tasks.

Qualifications

Passionate about hospitality service.

Experience working as a Chef de Partie.

Understands how a successful kitchen operates.

Professional attitude with courteous and friendly manner.

Punctual and reliable individual.

Excellent communication skills.

Team player.

Intermediate level English or Japanese.

High level of attention to detail.
