Kutchan Town boasts numerous walking course around marshes, lakes, mountain ranges and even the city. There is the leisurely “Kutchan-Hirafu Round Trip Couse” which takes you around the entire town of Kutchan; The “Asahigaoka local park Course” features a walk in the park near station followed up by a tour around confectionary shops; The “Hirafu Course” a trekking course in the hills where you can enjoy birds watching and observe flowers and trees; The “Lake Hangetsu Course” and the “Lake Kagaminuma Course” take you around mystic lakes marshes nestled in the great wildness; The “Ioukozan Course”(“Ioukozan is a former sulfur mine) featuring historical sites; and other great courses.
