The Otaru Light Path Festival is happening this February 11th until the 18th in the traditional port city of Otaru.
Make your way through the winding paths lined with snow sculptures. The ideal viewing time is in the evening when each sculpture illuminated by candlelight. The main attraction is the canal, which is filled with floating candles with a backdrop of traditional buildings.
Don’t miss this stunning event while in Niseko. To get to Otaru from Niseko using public transport, catch a train from Kutchan Station to Otaru Station. From Otaru Station it’s quite easy to walk to the main sites of the festival.
