Prepare for Powder at the 22/23 Niseko Short Film Festival at Hanazono Edge
Niseko filmmakers were spoiled with fresh snowfall almost every day this winter, so be prepared for some powder-filled movies at this year’s Niseko Short Film Festival on Friday March 17, 2023.
After two winters projecting the movies onto a giant 10m x 10m screen made of snow outdoors for COVID safety, this year the event will move back indoors to Hanazono Edge.
More than a dozen films created by talented locals and seasonal workers throughout this spectacular season will create a cinematic feast at Hanazono’s on-piste restaurant and event hall.
To help warm things up, event sponsor Don Julio 1942 Tequila will offer each guest a free shot of tequila. Also drinks and snack food by Hanazono EDGE available to buy.
The winning filmmakers will share in an incredible ¥350,000 (USD 2,500) in cash prizes.
Meanwhile, the winners of the season-long #NisekoShootout Instagram Hashtag will also be announced, with a swag of amazing prizes including a Niseko United Season Pass for next winter, accommodation with Nisade and Alpenglow Lodges, skis/snowboard by K2/Gentemstick, an Iwanai Cat Ski Tour and more.
To join us at the event, there are FREE HANAZONO SHUTTLE BUSES available from Hirafu until 7pm (every 30min interval). Check out the stops and locations HERE. There will also be free shuttle to Kutchan and Hirafu after the event. *Drunk driving is seriously prohibited in Japan
