Rankoshi Shellfish Museum

Among the seven towns and villages around Mt. Yotei under the jurisdiction of the Shiribeshi branch office, only Rankoshi-cho has a beautiful coastline (about 4 Km).

The town aims to promote the region by making the most out of the sea. “Shellfish Museum of Rankoshi” was built as one of the “Seaside Park Minato Concept” that promotes a new relationship with the sea and marine ecosystem.

Opened in 1991, this is a shellfish museum that displays fossil shells such as marine and land snails living worldwide and ammonites in Hokkaido.

The museum is open everyday in July and August. Please check HERE for more details and further schedules of the museum.
