The role

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. You will work closely with the Head of Finance, as well as the Finance team to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, preparation of financial statements, and adherence to financial regulations. This entry-level position offers an opportunity for growth and development within the field of accounting.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • General Accounting: Assist in the day-to-day accounting activities, including the preparation of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
    Contribute to the analysis of financial data and trends to support decision-making processes.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, documentation, and supporting schedules.
  • Auditing and Taxation Support: Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during external audits.
    Contribute to the preparation of tax filings and assist with tax compliance.
  • Financial Analysis: Support the finance team in conducting financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • System and Process Improvement: ssist in the implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and processes.
    Contribute to the streamlining of financial operations for increased efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, sales, and operations, to ensure accurate financial recording and reporting.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends.
    Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development within the accounting field.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in numerical data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of tax laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
