Job Overview

Housekeeping Supervisor supports the Housekeeping Manager in preparing the hotel for opening to ensure owners and guests will experience memorable stay at Setsu Niseko. Once the hotel is open, this person will act as a team leader to manage the day to day housekeeping operation and work closely with the cleaning supplier.

Responsibilities and Duties

The key tasks that are required of this person include:

  • Preparation of successful opening of Setsu Niseko.
  • Oversee the daily housekeeping by preparing cleaning schedule, cleaning, public area and room inspection.
  • Work closely with cleaning company as well as front desk and maintenance team.
  • Ordering and inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens.
  • Handle and resolve any owners and guests related issues to improve cleanliness of the hotel.
  • Monitor performance of staff, provide feedback, and training as required.
  • Role is flexible and this position will have to adapt as necessary to the changing market conditions and operational constraints.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Previous housekeeping experience.  Must like cleaning in general.
  • A self-starter that can work independently and achieve targets.
  • Understand Setsu Niseko’s vision for customer service and be committed to its delivery.
  • Be an excellent, flexible, inspirational and involved team player.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate well across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and work to deadlines with close attention to detail.
  • Always be punctual and considerate of fellow work colleagues.
  • Ideally native or fluent in Japanese.
  • Visa status permitting full-time work in Japan. Sponsorship available for the right applicant.
  • Driving license essential.
