About us
Rhythm Japan has been operating since 2005 and has since grown into one of Japan’s most successful ski and snowboard rental and retail outlets. We operate multiple stores across 3 locations of Niseko, Hakuba and Furano which are some of Japan’s most well known ski resorts.
Due to the nature and the seasonality of the business the majority of our recruiting is primarily focused on the winter season and our team can fluctuate up to several hundred staff in winter.

The role
The role of the Retail Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the merchandising management team in the completion and execution of retail related administration tasks.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Assist with entering data in an online system, and any other related systems
- Responsible for ordering of general store fixture, office supplies, stationary and any other related goods
- Provide ongoing administrative support for retail operations
- Run retail related reports to support management team as needed
- Make travel arrangements and itineraries, as well as preparing expense reports
- Answer telephone and give information for retail management team member(s), routes call to appropriate person, or takes messages
- Responsibly communicate and cooperate with our various business partners, and works to maintain a close working relationship
- Organize the filing system including delivery slips, invoices, and all other related documentation
- Administrate warranty system
- Track all delivery slips/invoices and communicate with accounts for receiving and paying for goods/stocks
- Help with upkeep of buying related reports such as workbooks, buy plans, and sales reports
- Translation and interpretation when needed
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful as a Retail Administrative Assistant you must be able to work with minimal supervision and have excellent communication skills. A basic understanding in the industry of ski/snowboard products, general knowledge of ski/snowboard equipment, and experience in working in a retail store is also necessary. You will need to demonstrate strong proficiency in both English and Japanese language in areas such as speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Strong computer skills especially in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Business applications, as well as Xero, is also expected.
