EdVenture Kids Camp is part of the MnK Experiences team, our parent company, MnK, provides holiday chalets and property management services in Niseko, Hokkaido. We’re looking for a guest experience junior leader to look after our customers in the great outdoors, at the site, and around the Niseko surroundings as they take on their EdVenture journey. EdVenture by MnK offers multi-activity seasonal programs for children, young teenagers, and their families in the natural surroundings of Niseko, Japan. More than just a “kids camp”, the experience allows families to come together and create unforgettable memories in one of the safest and most beautiful parts of the world. Our unique program connects children worldwide, allowing them to build new friendships, learn new skills, and grow in confidence. A key part of our company culture is regular, cross-department communication and contribution across all of MnK Niseko’s functions. We help each other. That could mean driving a guest to the mountain, helping to clear snow, or participating in a brainstorming session.

We seek an enthusiastic and highly organized individual to join our team as the EdVenture Operations Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations of EdVenture Kids Camp, including scheduling and programming, staff, training, site resources, and space set up and maintenance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to ensure that EdVenture delivers high-quality experiences to our guests. A key part of this role will be to develop, market, and implement this new product with support from management and other full-time EdVenture staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the EdVenture programming schedule, ensuring that it is engagin, educational, and meets the needs of our guests
  • Oversee staffing for EdVenture, including hiring, training, scheudlling, and performance management of camp counselors and mentors
  • Ensure the smooth day to day operation of all EdVenture programs by acting as the lead facilitator for seasonal programs
  • Manage site resources for EdVenure, including supplies, equipment, and facilities, ensure that everything is well-maintained and organised
  • Ensure that all EdVenture staff are up-to-date on all policies and procedures related to guest safety and well-bring
  • Collaborate with senior managers to develop joint programming and promotions that encourages cross-services engagement
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Qualities

  • Can demonstrate experience working with children. Previous teaching or camp counselling experience required
  • Must hold a valid working holiday visa or be a Japanese citizen or eligible for a sponsorship visa
  • Willingness to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions
  • Must hold a valid Japanese driver’s license or International Driving Permit
  • Snow Sports instructor qualification is an advantage
  • First aid qualifications an advantage

Working Hours

Working days/hours will vary depending on business needs

Remuneration

Starting at ¥240,000 per month to ¥285,000 depending on experience and/or language ability
