The role
The E-Commerce Manager will be responsible for the overall strategy, implementation, and management of the organization’s e-commerce platform. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to execute promotional campaigns, optimize the customer experience, and provide valuable insights on customer shopping trends. Additionally, this role will ensure excellent customer service, collaborate with planning and warehousing teams for order fulfillment, and provide analysis and reporting on key metrics. This role will collaborate with marketing to plan website design and development, monitor web analytics, and execute strategic roadmaps within budgetary constraints. Your role will involve collaborating with technical teams, developing SEO strategies, managing a team, ensuring quality control, and adhering to schedules and timescales.
Key responsibilities and duties
- E-commerce Strategy: drive the sales performance of the e-commerce platform through effective strategies and tactics.
- Promotional Campaigns: collaborate with marketing to plan, execute, and manage promotional campaigns to increase sales and customer engagement.
- Assortment Selection and Gap Analysis: provide insights on customer shopping trends to support assortment selection and identify gaps in the product offering.
- Customer Service: ensure excellent customer service by promptly addressing and resolving customer issues or comments.
- Demand Planning and Order Fulfillment: collaborate with demand planning and warehousing teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Analysis and Reporting: provide analysis and reporting on key metrics such as weekly/monthly sales by department, new product sell-through, and offer code performance.
- Website Design and Development: collaborate with IT and web developers to design and develop the e-commerce website to ensure an optimized user experience.
- Web Analytics: monitor web analytics and internal data sources to gather insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Roadmap Execution: design and execute strategic roadmaps to enhance the functionality and performance of the e-commerce platform.
- Budget Management: effectively manage the budget allocated for e-commerce activities and campaigns.
- Team Management: supervise a team of e-commerce professionals, monitor their progress, and provide guidance and support.
- Quality Control and Assurance: ensure high-quality standards are maintained throughout the e-commerce platform and processes.
- SEO Strategy and Marketing Plans: collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute SEO strategies and comprehensive marketing plans.
- Technical Collaboration: work closely with web development and technical teams to ensure the seamless operation of the e-commerce platform.
- Schedule and Timescale Management: develop schedules and timescales for e-commerce projects and ensure their timely execution.
What you’ll need to succeed
To thrive in the role of an E-Commerce Manager, you will need a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Experience in driving e-commerce sales and managing an e-commerce platform; strong analytical skills and proficiency in web analytics tools. Additionally, experience in promotional campaign planning and execution, with knowledge of customer shopping trends and assortment analysis; excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities; familiarity with demand planning and order fulfillment processes; proficiency in data analysis and reporting; technical understanding of website design and development; knowledge of SEO strategies and marketing plans and budget management skills.
