Work Hours:
Average of 35-40 hours per week during peak season, 25-30 hours per week in the low season.

Wage

1,200yen/hour ~ depending on experience & language ability

Accommodation:

Private Bar Gyu+ staff house in the Hirafu (main ski area), Kabayama Home is a new house with 9 private rooms, two bathrooms, two shower units, two kitchens, laundry, parking with road heating, dry room for gear and wear, wifi, fully furnished kitchen/living & bedrooms.

The house is serviced with a cleaner twice a month, sheets provided and laundered every two weeks.

Rent is all inclusive ¥30,000/month (private room)

Position

As a Bartender /Server / Host / Kitchen at Bar Gyu+ located in Hirafu (Niseko) you will be responsible for making cocktails with care and attention, educating guests, answering questions while providing fun, warm, inviting and professional service.

Job Duties

  • Great and seat guests
  • Prepare and serve hot cocktails alcohol or non-alcohol drinks
  • Wash and dry dishes and glasses
  • Set and clean tables and chairs
  • Present menus and help customers select food/beverages
  • Interact with customers, take orders and serve food and drinks
  • Answer questions or make recommendations
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Work as a team with kitchen & bar
  • Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
  • Issue bills and accept payment
  • Clear tables and keep service area, toilets, and kitchen very clean
  • Check customer’s ID (20yrs)
  • In-depth knowledge of food & drink menu
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.

Skills

You do not need to have prior experience in service, but if this should sound like you:

About us

Bar Gyu+ was founded in 1999 and is now one of the oldest establishments in Niseko. In its 23rd year the bar has become an institution in the local community playing a central role in the promotion of the area as a food and drink destination. The bar is well known for its tiny vintage Coke-a-Cola vending machine door, but is also known for one of Japan’s largest collections of rare Japanese whiskies. We serves classically inspired cocktails, a large selection of sake, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks.

Our team is an international group of people and throughout the winter we host many guest chefs, bartenders and artists from all over the world.

We have been featured in The New York Times, National Geographic online, BBC, Vogue and a number of other international and domestic publications, ski and snowboard films most notably The Warmth of Winter (DPS) and Saturation.
