    Niseko Distillery-ohoro GIN(standard)

    World Gin Award 2023

Our ‘ohoro GIN(standard)’ awarded the Country Winners Gold
at an international gin competition called World Gin Award 2023
which was held in England. It is one of the biggest gin competitions in the world.

Ohoro GIN(standard) is a regular product since we released it in 2021. It is flavored with 13 botanicals, including sweet gale and Japanese peppermint from Niseko with good high-quality underground water from Mt.Annupuri. You can enjoy a clear, smooth, but full-bodied flavor with a light citrus aroma.
We recommend it as a cocktail base for gin and tonic, martini, or simply with ice.

On 23rd February, there will be an award for the ‘World’s Best’ in England.

Hotel Niseko Alpen to be Rebuilt and Reopened in Winter 2026

Second entry in the “Value up NISEKO 2030” project

The birth of a hotel condominium in Niseko’s top location

Scheduled for a Winter 2026 opening

after the rebuilding of the ski-in/ski-out “Hotel Niseko Aspen”

Tokyu Land Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masashi Okada; “Tokyu
Land” below) and Tokyu Resorts & Stays Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO:
Toshihiro Awatsuji; “Tokyu Resorts & Stays” below) announce that as the second entry of their “Value up
NISEKO 2030” project, the companies have made the decision to rebuild the “Hotel Niseko Alpen” in the
Kutchan Town, Hokkaido into a hotel condominium. Located right in front of the state-of-the-art gondola that
will undergo a redesign as the first entry in the project, Hotel Niseko Alpen will be reborn into a hotel
condominium with the top location in Niseko, one that offers direct access to all ski slopes. Note that Hotel
Niseko Alpen in its current form will discontinue its business as of March 31, 2023 in order to undergo
demolition of the existing building. The hotel condominium to take its place is scheduled to open in Winter
    2026.

    ■ Background and Purpose of Rebuilding
Since opening in 1986, Hotel Niseko Aspen has been used by numerous customers, local and otherwise, as
a core hotel of a ski slope. In recent years, the facility has undergone repairs and improvements to a number
of its guest rooms, the updating of its equipment, and other changes as needed. While Tokyu Land and Tokyu
Resorts & Stays had considered large-scale repairs and improvements over time as a means of improving the
value of the area going forward, based on various surveys, the state of dilapidation of the facility, and other
factors, the companies settled a policy of rebuilding the facility outright.
With “Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU,” Tokyu Land and Tokyu Resorts & Stays had bolstered their initiatives
aimed at regional revitalization outside the skiing season, including putting a summer gondola in service and a mountain bike course in place. With the rebuilding of Hotel Niseko Alpen, the companies seek to contribute
to improving the appeal of staying at the hotel as a core facility of a ski slope located in that resort’s core as
well as continue to compel numerous visitors to use the facility with a view to realizing an all-season
    international resort.
After its rebuilding, Tokyu Land and Tokyu Resorts & Stays are envisioning that Hotel Niseko Aspen will take
the shape of a hotel condominium containing over 100 guest rooms. The companies will proceed to promote
this plan with a target opening of Winter 2026.

    ■ The birth of a hotel condominium right in front of a new gondola that connects directly to the
    ski slopes
Hotel Niseko Alpen is positioned in a prime ski-in/ski-out location within the Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU
ski resort that also places it right in front of a new gondola scheduled to be rebuilt in Winter 2024. With the
new hotel condominium that it is planning to build, Tokyu Land and Tokyu Resorts & Stays will take full
advantage of this outstanding location to create accommodations that are more comfortable and
environmentally-conscious and are of higher quality. Additionally, in its plans for the facility, the companies
also seek to incorporate prosperity-building initiatives befitting accommodations to be positioned as a resort
core that will also contain the Hirafu Ski Resort Daiichi Parking Area Development Project being planned by
Kutchan Town. Tokyu Land and Tokyu Resorts & Stays will announce details of the hotel condominium,
including its name, an overview and when sales of units will commence, as soon as they have been
    determined.

    ■ About Value up NISEKO 2030
The Value up NISEKO 2030 project is an urban development project intended to address challenges and
revitalize the area through collaborating with the government, local companies, and people in the community
to build the world-class “NISEKO” brand as a resort that aims for sustainable development and a destination
that continues to be chosen by the year 2030. Having executed a comprehensive cooperation agreement for the formation of an all-season international resort to mark the 50 th anniversary of Kutchan’s Ski Town
Declaration, in addition to promoting smart resorts, Tokyu Land will proceed to tackle the improvement of
physical infrastructure such as the updating of cableways on ski slopes as well as non-physical aspects like
measures aimed at making resorts conducive to all-season use while bolstering the company’s regional
affiliations. Moreover, Tokyu Land has decided on the rebuilding of the lift with the most extensive transport
record in Niseko as the first entry in the Value up NISEKO 2030 project, and intends to continue promoting
multiple endeavors that also include a non-physical initiative in the form of commencing demonstration tests
for “Niseko Powder Tokens” as Japan’s first skiing NFT that will be accompanied by “fast track” privileges
    starting this Winter season.

Soaring winter airlift set to ignite Niseko tourism and real estate

Soaring winter airlift set to ignite Niseko tourism and real estate

Under a new mantra of ‘have plane, will travel’, the alpine destination of Niseko has seen winter bookings come at a blistering pace

    Niseko Hirafu Village

Japan’s winter ski hotspot Niseko is set for a strong post-pandemic market rebound due to one simple thing – airlift. Timing is everything and the key touch point for airlines everywhere, moving out of a prolonged period of grounded commercial aircraft, has been to get them up and flying again onto high-demand routes.

In a right time, right place scenario, news of the 11 October 2022 lifting of restrictions of travellers to Japan and seasonal timing of airline winter schedules has created a potential windfall for Hokkaido’s international aviation gateway New Chitose Airport.

Singapore Airlines’ low-cost airline Scoot jumped the gun and was the first to announce a return of winter schedule flights commencing November. More recently Thai Airways will resume daily flights from the first of December this year. Last week Thai AirAsia X also made public plans to restart the Bangkok to New Chitose service in December.

The Thailand Hokkaido connection is driven by a strong Thai domestic ‘snowseeker’ market, and also Bangkok as an Asia hub for the broader international market transiting to Japan given favourable airfares. One key issue for Thais is whether a visa waiver will be put in place with the new reopening program, given a cost issue of approximately THB1500 (USD39) and paperwork requirements. Japan has been slow to roll out extensive guidelines for the reopening which is creating some unrest for hotels and tour organisations in Japan.

Under a new mantra of ‘have plane, will travel’, the alpine destination of Niseko has seen winter bookings come at a blistering pace. Property developers in the destination are reporting a sharp uplift in inquiries given resort real estate is often an emotional buy, and potential purchasers want to get their boots on the ground, given the extended period they were unable to visit.

The newly released C9 Hotelworks market research report Niseko Tourism and Property Market Review gives the forward outlook that the combination of the favourable dollar-yen exchange rate and pent-up demand will see a return to high transaction levels from this winter through the rest of 2023.

A selection of properties creating a buzz at the moment range from the luxury ski-in and ski-out hotel and branded residence development Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono, Zeikki Properties IntuitionHinode Hils at Niseko VillageHakuVillas, and the Andaru Collection. One key destination trait of Niseko remains that majority of tourism accommodation is in luxury and upscale condominiums and vacation homes and not traditional big box hotels.

Despite its airlift and demand trajectory, one immediate challenge for hotels and rental accommodations is how to gear up staffing levels for the upcoming winter, given the market typically relies on a large influx of foreign seasonal workers. Expect a strain on service levels for this season but moving forward the critical mass of international brands and impressive new developments bodes well for Asia’s dream ski destination.

Luxury Onsen Estate Intuition Niseko opens to public

Luxury Onsen Estate Intuition Niseko Opens to Public

After a two year pause, exclusive onsen estate and hotel, Intuition Niseko, has opened its doors to welcome guests for a much anticipated snow season.

    • Intuition Niseko welcomes its first guests after a two year pause
    • Niseko Naniwatei opens with 60 years of experience in Sapporo
    • Strong early season demand expected to continue

Originally scheduled to open in December 2020,  the hotel’s launch was paused due to Japan’s pandemic border closures. That was left in the past as the Intuition Niseko team excitedly welcomed their first guests opening on the 9th December 2022.

Intuition joins Niseko as an “exclusive onsen hotel & estate” and is located near the Ace Family quad chairlift. The property was master-planned by renowned architect Kengo Kuma and developed by Zekkei in partnership with Niseko Alpine Developments (NISADE), who operate the property. “The estate’s forest location gives it an intimate, private feeling without sacrificing proximity to the slopes or village atmosphere,” said NISADE’s Hotel Operations Director Jayan Shrestha, “we haven’t sacrificed the Mt Yotei views either”.

The first arrivals herald what is shaping up like an exciting season for Niseko’s premier accommodation provider NISADE. “As soon as Japan’s border reopening was announced, we saw an unprecedented surge in bookings, enquiries and traffic through our booking website,” said NISADE Japan’s Marketing Manager, Amon Bradshaw, “with Intuition on sale until the end of the month we’re expecting bookings for the property to remain strong”.

The opening of Intuition Niseko also heralds the arrival of Niseko Naniwatei ニセコ浪花亭. The restaurant comes with over sixty years of experience in Sapporo and offers refined Japanese dining using local vegetables from the Niseko area and seafood sourced in Hokkaido. Naniwatei’s menu offers a range of options and courses including the 10 dish Hirafu selection starting at ¥15,000.
